Very welcoming, decent portions, food arrived in good time and clean. Has a cute little gift shop. Recommend a mocha with a sprinkling of marshmallows if you have a sweet tooth and love coffee. It’s a nice little stop off point.

Lovely little hidden cafe just off the main road. The food was cooked to perfection and really hit and fresh. The drinks were lovely too and they had a good amount of options. Being dog friendly was also a bonus. They do also have a car park right outside.

Really nice place to pop in to or meet friends. Great place for a sit down and a hot drink, or for a low key lunch. The food is very tasty and comforting, and portion sizes are good - huge slabs of delicious cake. It makes The Belted Galloway very fair value, which is not so common these days. The staff are absolutely lovely. Friendly to locals and tourists, helpful and thorough in their work, happy to help with food preferences and special diets. Loads of seats, including outdoors with a view of the river bank - over the free council car park, which always has spaces. They have a huge selection of gifts, both in the cafe and in the shop area, including gorgeous modern mugs, Newton Stewart tea towels, jewellery, art and your standard fudges and preserves.

Fantastic wee place. Staff were excellent and so friendly thank you. Hopefully we will be back soon

We are regular visitors to the Beltie Galloway Cafe. The staff are very friendly and always have a warm welcome . The food is very nice with a varied choice on the menu. There is always a great selection of home baking if you fancied dropping in for a coffee . There are a lot of seats inside and on dry days outside seating. We always phone ahead to book our seat as it is usually busy . There is easy access for the disabled also . Plenty of parking . The last time we visited we had an afternoon (this needs 24 hours notice). Really recommend the Beltie Cafe.

Fantastic place to eat and drink Has a odd location next to the main Car Park (that's free) but don't let that put you off. Food and drink are very good and the staff are really friendly and helpful - they make lovely Flat Whites Inside it is decorated with lots of pictures and paraphernalia that can keep you occupied for hours whilst you eat there They also have Maps and lots of info on local walks. You can also buy little souveniers and little gifts. Absolutely top place to visit

Easy to park nearby as it's situated tucked away to the side of the main car park by the river. The scone was delicious, large, light and filling with plenty of fruit in it. My husband had a Turkish Delight traybake which I tasted and it was good. It was a generous size too. We had chai lattes which were lovely. Quite often the milk in lattes isn't hot enough when you get it and it's like drinking a lukewarm cup of coffee. This wasn't like that, the chai was really hot and remained so for a good 20 minutes. The walls are covered with lots of information and photos about things of interest in the area. The only thing I would say that isn't so good here is the lighting. The building has high ceilings and the lighting is high up and pointing upwards as well, so it felt quite gloomy in there. This wasn't helped with it being a wet late December afternoon either, so it was dull outside.

Can't believe that this was our first time visiting this place. Been to Newton Stewart loads and didn't realise this was dog friendly. We ate here twice and the staff are nice, food nice and there's little gifts you can find in the shop there. Will definitely pop in again when we are up.
